How We Write and Review Our Content
Medicare and health insurance decisions affect your health and your money. Here's exactly where our information comes from, how we keep it current, and how to tell us if something's wrong.
Who's behind the content
Jenkins Insurance & Retirement (jenkinsir.com) is an educational website run by Jordan Jenkins, a licensed insurance agent in Utah and Wyoming (National Producer Number 21725314) who works with Complete Retirement Solutions Group (CRSG). You can verify his license with the Utah Insurance Department or the Wyoming Department of Insurance.
Nevada pages name the Nevada-licensed agents who serve Nevada clients, Eric Jenkins and Angie Oceguera. Jordan is not licensed in Nevada.
We use AI writing tools to help research and draft some content. Nothing is published on that basis alone: every figure, date and rule is checked against the official source it cites before it goes live.
Where our facts come from
We rely on primary, official sources: Medicare.gov and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Social Security Administration, HealthCare.gov, the IRS, Nevada Health Link, and state insurance departments and Medicaid agencies in Utah, Wyoming and Nevada. For analysis and context we also use independent nonprofit research such as KFF.
Our short-answer boxes and charts list their sources on the page, and articles name their sources at the end. If we can't find an official source for a figure, we don't publish the figure.
How we keep it current
Medicare and ACA dollar amounts change every year. When CMS, Social Security and the IRS publish the next year's figures (usually in the fall), we update our guides, tools and charts together.
Guides show the plan year they were reviewed for. Pages and articles that have been re-checked against their sources show a "Last reviewed" date: the day that review actually happened, never an automatic date.
Dated articles keep the figures that were correct when they were published, so an older article may show an older year's numbers. When we substantially update an article, we re-check it and show the new review date.
What our content is, and isn't
Everything here is general education. It isn't a recommendation of any specific plan, an eligibility determination, or legal or tax advice. Insurance companies don't write, review or pay for our articles, and we don't accept paid placements.
We're licensed agents, and agents are paid commissions by insurance companies when someone enrolls through us. That doesn't change what you pay for a plan. We do not offer every plan available in your area; for all of your options, visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE, or use HealthCare.gov for Marketplace plans.
We follow Medicare's marketing rules for agents: for example, we don't describe a $0-premium plan as "free," and we don't name specific plans or their benefits in general content. Jenkins Insurance & Retirement is not affiliated with or endorsed by Medicare, CMS or any government agency.
Corrections
If you spot something wrong, outdated or unclear, please tell us. Email jjenkins@crsgadvisors.com or use our contact form. We check every report against the official source and fix confirmed errors promptly; when a correction changes the substance of an article, we say so on the page.
