The Path
Getting licensed, step by step
- 1Complete a state-approved Life & Health pre-licensing course.
- 2Register for and pass the Life, Accident & Health licensing exam.
- 3Submit fingerprints and a background check as required.
- 4Apply for your resident producer license (most states use NIPR).
- 5Then complete AHIP and carrier certifications to sell Medicare plans.
Wyoming
Wyoming producer licensing is handled by the Wyoming Department of Insurance, with applications processed through NIPR.
Utah
Utah producer licensing is handled by the Utah Insurance Department, with applications processed through NIPR.
