Getting licensed, step by step

  1. 1Complete a state-approved Life & Health pre-licensing course.
  2. 2Register for and pass the Life, Accident & Health licensing exam.
  3. 3Submit fingerprints and a background check as required.
  4. 4Apply for your resident producer license (most states use NIPR).
  5. 5Then complete AHIP and carrier certifications to sell Medicare plans.
